Photographer's Note

I took me few minutes to realize what is this thing for when I pass by a small alley behind shop houses around Arab street.

This is a metal ring fixed to a 50x50x50cm cubic concrete block. There were several blocks like this on the road side.

Still can't guess? Well, I guess the blocks are where the shopkeeper hook their sun/rain shelter onto. The shelter is usually made of canvas or thick plastic sheet hanging from the ceiling and the bottom part need to be hooked to something so it would not blown away by the wind. Again, I'm just guessing as there's no canvas or plastic sheets around there :)
