Photographer's Note

As I told you before, there is a huge monastery in front that church and in front of its entrance it was put the statue of Prince Pozharskiy. I told you his history few days ago, he was convinced by the butcher Minin to fight against the Polish army and put the country free again.
This prince was born in Suzdal and was buried inside this monastery, his tomb was almost abandoned in the 19th century when the czar decided to create a new funerary monument for him, when communist arrived to the power they destroyed this monument and used its adorned stones in a subway station in Moscow.
An interesting fact is during II War Stalin was feeling vulnerable and needed something to improve the self-confidence of soldiers and people to fight against Germans. Then he gave a little aperture to the religion in Russia and used old heroic imperial personages, like this prince, to convince his people they would be strong enough to destroy the Nazism, as their ancestors had done.
This sculpture is a modern artwork to celebrate his memory, you can see the faade of the main entrance of the monastery ahead. Curiously I ever imagine an ancestor of a bat man when I see this sculpture.
..............
