Prospekt Mira (Avenue of Peace) is the historic part of Vladikavkaz, together with adjoining streets.
Vladikavkaz has increased greatly in recent years, new streets, new squares and parks appeared here, but still Prospekt Mira is a favorite place of rest the townspeople.
Prospekt Mira was pawned as an urban "Broadway" is not immediately. Initially, Lenin Street (former street Dvoryanskaya former Loris Melikovskaya) was much more prestigious. Prospekt (Boulevard) was defeated on the orders of the fortress commandant, Major-General PP Nesterov, so at first bore his name. Then, this Prospekt has been called the Alexander Prospekt in honor of Tsar-Liberator Alexander II.
Prospekt Mira has no similar houses, each distinguished by its originality. Some of these homes have distinctive architectural details, other houses have a beautiful balcony grilles or memorable steeples and turrets. But all of these homes are made in the style of "modern". Office buildings was not on the avenue, there were hotels, shops and private homes. It now remains the same.
Prospekt Mira is a pedestrian zone. The length of the avenue is 1 kilometer.

Hello Irena,
One of the nice things with TE is to find pictures from places that are quite unknown to me, such as Vladikavkaz. These are very elegant buildings and they are well presented, seen between the trunk and a branch of a tree. The light is pleasant and the family strolling along the street give the view a good atmosphere. The man's red shirt is a fine eye-catcher.

Fιlicitations pour cet excellent choix de cadrage, il met en valeur les faηades de ces immeubles dont la dιcoration ne manque pas d'ιlιgance, ni de charme.
Le platane au premier plan est excellent pour donner du relief ΰ l'ensemble.

lovely architecture Irena. The strolling family accentuates the restful and cozy mood. Lovely light again and excellent details. At first i thought why the tree, but then I saw the leaf lit by the sun and knew why. Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Hello Irena,
Your photo showing historic Vladikavkaz reveals the general architecture I saw in St. Petersburg also. It's a wonderful photo, and a pleasant aspect is that the streets are not overrun by masses of cars. The children appear to be playing in the streets. (Your note identifying this street as a pedestrian zone explains the reason.)

Ирина, приветствую еще раз!
Жалею, что из Моздока поехал во Владикавказ не как все - через Прохладный, а напрямик - через Ингушетию, потеряв много времени из-за проверок документов. А надо было попасть во Владикавказ до темноты, пройтись по центральной улице, посмотреть и поснимать. Вам легче сделать отличный фотопортрет вашего красивого города. Проспект Мира на снимке похож на Сумскую в Харькове, но благодаря платанам выглядит более тенистым и живописным. Прекрасная работа!
