Photographer's Note
The bright gold onion domes of the Ivan the Great Belltower make it the most prominent feature of the Kremlin skyline. At a height of over 80 metres, it was long the tallest structure in all of Russia.
I found it very difficult to get a good shot of the tower since it is so tall. I think this image works, however, and the birds give a nice touch. On the other side of the building is Cathedral Square, a very impressive ensemble of cathedrals, towers and palaces. Postings of the square will follow, some with the cut-off head of the Ivan the Great Belltower!
