Photographer's Note
A star fish taking a respite off the waters of Panglao Beach in Bohol. Panglao is a popular tourist destination in the Philippines. The Panglao Marine Biodiversity Project discovered that Panglao has rich marine biodiversity and new species of crustaceans and mollusks were found around the island.
This photo was taken a decade ago (February, 2004) while I was having my early morning walk..... to take pictures and ‘feel’ the place.

Taken through water I presume. How deep I wonder. There's no sign of any reflections, so I wonder if you used a polarising filter. Considering we're looking through water, we have a beautifully sharp and contrasty image. And well done you for not plonking the starfish in the middle of the frame! Nice one.

Hello Michelle,
A fine photo of a star fish, I wonder why they call it a fish, it doesn't look like one. Like the contrasting colours and textures on the fish making it stand out beautifully against the sand bed. Very good image quality for an old scanned image. Thanks for sharing.

We do not see many fauna shots on TE. I thought this starfish was particular; it certainly cought my attention... for the delicate color pallette and the semi abstract slightly blurry scenery. Composition-wise I think you did a good job.
