Daraga Church - This beautiful church was constucted after the Mayon eruption of 1814 which buried the town of Cagsawa in mud and rocks, killing thousands of people and devastating the town. Only the belfry of the church remained as atestimony to Mayon's destructive power. To prevent a similar disaster from happening the people of Daraga decided to build a church on top of a hill. This church overlooks the town of Daraga and has a good view of the volcano, looming in the distance. Is this baroque or gothic? Anyone? hehe
