Taxila (Urdu: ٹیکسلا, Sanskrit: तक्षशिला Takṣaśilā, Pali:Takkasilā) is an important archaeological site of Ancient India and is currently in modern-day Pakistan. It contains the ruins of the Gandhāran city of Takshashila (also Takkasila or Taxila) an important Vedic/Hindu[1] and Buddhist[2] centre of learning from the 6th century BCE[3] to the 5th century CE.[4] [5] In 1980, Taxila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site with multiple locations.[6]

Hey Irfan,
A very nice, sharp photo of the ancient site. Great colors and lighting. I shudder when I think how much of history has passed through this place, from Darius, Alexander, Indo-Greeks etc, etc. I know about the place, but haven`t seen it till now, obviously, TFS.
