this picture of a little child with eye make-up for protection from bad spirits I guess was taken near one of many temples in kathmandu. in her huge eyes you can see me, I think, though i am not sure if it adds any technical or artistic value to the shot :(

Wonderful portrait. I love the big eyes and the catchlight in the eyes. You focused on the eyes, which is important. But a little more depth of field may have helped to see more sharpness in the rest of the face. Your notes are helpful.

A very good portrait, Lia. the roundness of his (her?) head -and therefore the eyes- is pretty much enhanced with the almost square crop format you chose.
A nice feature that you off centered his/her head, adequate DOF too that throws out any distraction coming from the background.
If I had anything to say, the image might need an overall sharpening to really get his/her eyes jumping out of the screen.

Nice shot. I appreciate the note about the make-up for protection from bad spirits. This is new to me, I didn't know they put make-up on kids and neither the reason why they do it.
Luko's critique really is accurate about the technical aspects.

Wonderful portrait. I love children, specially not occidental children, because I learn always something good. Like your portrait, the calm of 5 years.
Technically, I think it's very well done, because the most important in portrait are the eyes, and they are "Impresionantes"
