Chinese and Overseas Chinese will celebrated Mid Autumn Festival on this Wednesday 22-09-2010.

Beside as the decoration, parents are always playing lanterns with their children at Mid Autumn Festival. Showing in this photo, it is a lantern in traditional style completed in 4 square surfaces and 8 traingle surfaces with hollow and open at top and bottom. The patterns print on the papers that use to make this lantern are come from the traditional Chinese Paper-cutting.

Of course the lantern at above photo is not mine, it is a decoration lantern at a hall inside the OneUtama shopping mall that selling moon-cake before the Mid Autumn Festival. If you look carefuly, you can find a shallow shadow of the lantern is falling onto the right bottom.

Paper lanterns come in various shapes and sizes, as well as various methods of construction. The easiest form, is simply a paper bag with a candle placed inside, although more complicated lanterns consist of a collapsible bamboo or metal frame of hoops, covered with tough paper.
