Photographer's Note

I think it was Jean-Yves (PixelTerror) who asked if I had engaged in the TE sport of monk snapping. I tried several times and wasn’t too successful as I felt I was intruding. I have now finished the journal part of the travelogue, but thought that no travelogue of SE Asia is complete without a photo of a monk, so here are mine.
The one on the left was walking towards me just as we were leaving Pha That Luang, (See here) Laos’ most important National Monument in Vientiane. I was intrigued that he was using an umbrella as a parasol. I gestured with my camera to ask permission to take a photo and he posed for me. f14 1/125sec.

The one on the right was in the grounds of Wat Phabat Phonsan in Phabat (See here) f5.6 1/50sec.
