Photographer's Note
A quick photo of Lotus to start off with this TE layout. In Buddhism, this flower is symbolic of the Buddha. This is due to to the fact that the lotus is the only aquatic plant whose flower is above the water. This image, connoting the lightness of flowers rising above the surface of the water is meant to evoke that of Buddha, so light that it floats like a cat above the ground.
To this must be added that the lotus has its vital substance in the mud. Thus "mud" represents suffering, troubles, desires, which are the breeding ground of our development.
Always present in the household altars and temples, the lotus is both ornamental and religious offering.
Hope that we too will rise above the little worries of this new site and join photographic nirvana!

I adore the colors and the stillness in this image. I appreciate that you focused on the pink lotus flower and allowed the background to blur. Ideal lighting, well-selected composition and POV, and interesting note.
I grow these in my backyard pond as I love the way they look, but I was unaware of their significance in Buddhism.

It is gorgeous, the water lily. We use the stem for soup. The color of the flower is brilliant. Nicely composed and really good sharpness and clarity. Beautiful!
