Photographer's Note
One can't go to Laos and miss out on THE favored South East Asian mode of transportation ! Besides, that was a good practice for panning...not as sharp as I would have liked it to be but still...
See workshop for a different take...

Hi Philippe!
Only one person on the scooter, that`s a rare view in S.E.Asia.You managed the paning technique well and the background looks great.

Hi Philippe,
yes 1/40 is good for this.. the theme is an outstanding one in this region, also the transport of families, goods, furniture on these 50cc΄s.
Compliments, Chris

Hi Philippe,
South East Asian ambience is very much present on such motorcyclette shot. Strong feeling of speed is well present by panning. And it is sharp for that exposure time. Good framing leaving room towards direction of motion.

Hi Philippe,
Yes panning is difficult, it takes a lot of practise and seeing this at 1/40 is not that bad. Could be sharper on the bike (maybe i'll post one later with 1/40) but for someone who doesn't this that often it's a very good try and not that bad at all. The background works perfect, smooth and soft with a lot of movement inside...
Please keep on practising, one day you nail them..!!!

Henk

Salut Philippe,
A +

Almost a great panning shot Philippe - with a bit more blur in the background and a bit more sharpness on the bike it would have been perfect.
I know how difficult these shots are though. I's suggest a slightly longer shutter speed to get more background blur, then it's just a matter of panning with the bike as smoothly as possible to get it nice and sharp. I know, easier said than done.
Good effort though - as it is, it works well.
Cheers,
Ben

Salut Philippe!
Un beau filι bien net! Bravo! Bien jouι!
