A quelques heures de piste de la frontière chinoise au col de Torugart, s'étend la vallée de l'Arpa
Pendant les 5-6 mois d'été, quelques bergers se disséminent dans la solitude cette immense étendue, gardant leur troupeau ainsi que ceux confiés par les villageois et les riches propriétaires
Chevaux, vaches, moutons et parfois yaks paissent tranquillement avant d'être rassemblés au coucher du soleil dans un enclos, à l'abri des loups et autres prédateurs
A few hours on dust roads away from the Chinese border at the Torugart pass, stretches the Arpa valley
During 5-6 summer months, a few shepherds scatter in the loneliness of this huge high plateau, watching their own herd as well as those entrusted to them by the villagers and rich owners
Horses, cows, sheep and yaks quietly graze before being rounded up at sunset into paddocks, at shelter from wolves and other predators

Salut Patrick,laisse moi rever un peu,une photo qui souvien un peu le desert marocain,mais sans doute ici c'est un autre spectaclei,il y a le petit fleuve aussi et une atmosphere vraiment magique,quelle photo,quelles lumieres et couleurs,tres tres belle!!! A beautiful landscape - without a human trace - very rare capture of yours. Colors and light look brilliant - exactly how it should for such a scenery.
Maybe I would have cropped the upper white part including the top of the mountain on the right hand side. I wll try a WS if you don't mind.

This is a beautifully-made photograph of this wild, remote place. I would have liked to see more detail in the sky, but its emptiness maybe accentuates the lovely bleakness of the scene. I love the fact that there are no signs of humanity at all. Minimalist shot of a minimalist landscape.

Such a peaceful and interesting scene. Love the earth's color that naturally glows into this frame, the wild animals and that small river flowing. I find this place really exotic! I wonder how you travelled through this place? Was this a vacation? Did you rent a car or were you with some kind of group? I really envy you for this one. I bet the experience was really great, and having photographed such landscapes is a great feat! My compliments!

Hello Parick,
A wild and very beautiful photo of this incredible place. The definition and colours in the FG are superb. I enjoy the composition with the river meandering round and the horses almost in a line looking as if they had just come from the river.
Although rather hazy in the BG it is a very beautiful shot.

Bonjour Patrick,
Une belle ambiance comme je les aime. Si j'avais été là je pense que j'aurais aussi pris quelques vues.
L'éclairage était difficile, mais tu ne t'en es pas trop mal sorti.
Le torrent et les chevaux ont été bien utilisés dans le cadre.

Hello Patrick - Your photograph screams wild and remote location. Photographing into the light has worked well here, there is a loss of detail in the sky but I think the misty look on the far hills adds to the atmosphere very well. The tumbling river in the FG and wild horses against a golden brown landscape all come together beautifully. Warm regards rosemary

what an amazing landscape and wonderful light. I was thinking of mongolia when i first saw the image, a real Steppe. It is good to have the horses in the picture, it gives some extra to the otherwise empty landscape.

A scene depicting the land of dusty desert, mountain and river, the characteristics typical of Central Asia. An amazing landscape with great perspective nicely aligned with the stream and the animals to and life and vigor but I very much love the fading atmosphere in the distant which intensifies the depth enveloped the soft golden tones. Well captured, Congrats.

This light here is a masterpiece in itself. The warm tones and the haze in the BG are just magical and you controlled it so well, especially given the difficulties. Superb depth of field and an impressive place to trek, way off the beaten track where many of us (me especially) fear to tread. Thanks for sharing, have a beautiful week.

Non, tu ne rêves pas; c'est bien moi!
Je n'ai pas résisté à la curiosité... le Kyrgyzstan semble en dehors de la folle marche du monde capitaliste, et c'est assez pour le rendre aussi mystérieux qu'attirant à mes yeux. Les premières photos semblent prometteuses d'une série de grande qualité. En tous cas, d'entrée; elles se posent comme parmi les plus belles de ce pays sur Trekearth. Celle-ci en particulier, est ma préférée, pour sa lumière délicate et ses teintes douces, son atmosphère poétique, avec une composition bien maîtrisée. On a envie d'y être!...

c'est dépaysant et les formes rondes et les couleurs douces presque monochrome attirent l'oeil. On ne croirait pas que c'est pris au XXIème siècle. Le troupeau de chevaux qui paissent donne vie à ce paysage nostalgique. Tu as même réussi à sorit Marine de sa torpeur trek earthienne, et ça c'est un exploit!
