Photographer's Note
Wandering around the river here in Kani this morning trying to capture the elusive cranes and cormorants, I caught glimpse of these young school girls leaving from the train station, in what appears to be the wrong direction.
Freedom often comes in the form of getting ones license (as it was for me anyways), but the bike seems to meld to the youth's of Japan as their mode of freedom. It's not unusual to see both boys and girls doubling up a friend as they scurry to/from school/juku.
These passer-by's reminded me of the children's song "Daisy Belle" which contains the lyrics "A Bicycle Built for Two."
Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two.

Love the moment, and the positioning w/ the sign. :) B&W is a nice choice, too. Good work!
