Hiroshima, A-Bomb Dome.

Hiroshima, A-Bomb Dome.
The day I visited Hiroshima the weather was truly depressing: dark, clouded sky, strong wind, heavy clouds sweeping by. the atmosphere on the other hand was quite cheerful, as the city was crowded with children on a school trip, all very curious about us foreigners and happy to exchange a few words in English or to be photographed.
Obviously Hiroshima has little left to be photographed that dates back to before 1945. this girl was photographing the A-Bomb Dome, the building above which the atomic bomb detonated on August 6, 1945.
the original plan was to demolish the building - later however it was decided to keep it and the A-Bomb Dome became a national monument (also called Hiroshima Peace Memorial).
