Photographer's Note
A panoramic view of Ruteng Highland 1500m elevation looking down the vast green valley. Its for me a very close representation of the conditions at the time, often difficult to make out the mountain ranges in the background and that low lying mist and smokes that just hung around with lovely light as the sun was setting slowly behind some heavy clouds. It is amazing what levels of lighting and colours can do especially here to see what I could have got out of this scene.
Taken at Golo Curu - the highest vantage point on a cold late afternoon.
Setting: 85 mm, 1/100 sec, F5, ISO 200, 1633 hrs & GND Filter

this is the type of scene we'd see from Nicolas in Switzerland haha. its a wonderfully horizontally layered shot, layers upon layers, in different colors and tones. Almost as if the world is slowly on fire :) sweet shot

Ya Ruteng! I still remember I stayed just one night 17 years ago. So fantatsic just before sunset secne. So nicegradation continues fron front to rear a bit by bit. Several smokes from housese, maybe preparation for dinner, are also tasty.

A fantastic landscape of different layers, the contrast between the bluish hills and the orange evening sky is fantastic. The wonderfully shaped clouds also add a great contrast. The mood is beautiful and spectacular, very well captured.

A superb sunset and the lookout offered a panoramic view of the lush green fields below. Good sharpness and the warm orange tints in the sky contrast superbly with the blue fg shadows. Tfs!

Hi there
Although smoke can sometimes be seen as both a benefit and a turnoff in a photo, I feel it mixes well with the clouds and mist in this scene.
What really amazes me here is the soft calming colours of the sunset and how well it blends with the distance haze that is present in the photo.
Beautiful scene.
