Photographer's Note
This is one many dug-out traditional outrigger fishing canoes used by the indigenous Sasak of Lombok Island. Taken at Senggigi beach on an early morning showing the returning canoe being hauled-in ashore with daily catch after a night out fishing. Can you spot the bulging eyes on the prow - one of the prominent features for good luck, safe voyage and to ward off devil at sea.
A photogenic craft that I found very enchanting hence the capture.

Not only the special construction of the fishing boat and the hard work of the fishermen stand out in this beautiful photo, but also the bright colours of their clothing that they probably put on especially for this photo.

A great daily life photo of this fishing canoe and the five men busy to get it back onto land. Good lighting, which made the yellow and red parts of their clothing stand out well from the blue water. Well captured in a nice and narrow composition.

It's hard to push or pull the raw outrigger made of treet trunks and branches, even the boys help or maybe learn how to fish. Nice colors of their casual cloth.
