A young local boy takes part in the Bali Bombing anniversary ceremony, where ground zero was lined with on-lookers who paid their respects to the lives lost.

The 4 year anniversary was met with various ceremonies, from early morning ceremonies where 1,400 meters of white cloth was unfurled through various streets and ended where the bomb took place, also afternoon and night ceremonies took place at ground zero.

The 2002 Bali bombing occurred on October 12, 2002 in the resort town of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali, where it killed 202 people and injured a further 209. It was the deadliest act of terrorism in Indonesian history. The majority of the dead were foreign tourists, especially Australians (89 deaths), although nearly one-fifth were Indonesian nationals.

The attack involved three bombs; two large devastating bombs (a suicide bomber and a car bomb) in the Kuta nightclub district, and a third much smaller device detonated outside the American embassy with comparatively little damage.
