They were stay in the same place, but they must be in different way to think.
I dont know if the title is acceptable for this pic.

This shot is the kind that frustrates me... it looks like you --just missed-- a brilliant photo. 1. It's out of focus. That might be bad scanning, if this is film, so perhaps it is in focus in reality. 2. WAY too much room over their heads and not not enough below, should have been composed from a lower angle.
Otherwise, it's all good (though different composition would thankfully get rid of that light). The expressions, the tone, the location... lovely.

Many times title "Alone" means "something" or "something over". In this case it looks like mean really, going different way without your mother, maybe with your own.
You have blackside composition in your hand, while mother is thinking. But maybe your mother is right, older mothers are many times in right :-)
