Photographer's Note
Charak is a festival of Bengal, a Hindu festival performed during the last days of the month of Chaitra.
The festival includes spectacular performances by people practicing the faith for those few days.
In this shot, a young man prepares to be hung from a pole, while ropes are tied to his body. He will be swinging from that rope and whirled around to show off his faith.

Great POV! Makes the photo outstanding.
It's a pity that the light comes from reverse angle and the figures are a bit dark.
But the photo is very impressive in any case.

great angle great subject - i watched as a metal performer was swung in a similar way over the crowd at the Download festival a couple of years ago - except he was suspended by hooks through the skin on his back

Hi Arnab,
Nice shot. Informative note. Little dark though. Wonder if you could have played on the metering. However, that does not take away from the picture.

without the comment, it would be a quite sinister picture, it really looks like an execution. Shot at the right moment with an excellent POV. Maybe you could have done some PP to "lighten up" the young man. TFS

Nice shooting angle and POV, and good sky colors, the subject are a bit dark, maybe fill flash would have helped... i like the compo anyway... it looks like they gonna hang the guy!!

Fantastic original perspective and composition, Arnab. Very graphic, with the lines against the sky and the strong diagonal of the pole coming from the corner. But above all, the interesting way you mixed the two persons as if he was just one, with four arms. This result works perfectly to the theme of the festival and faithful people. Great shot!

Awesome perspective Arnab...Siddharta had also taken similar shots but in B&W. Good plentiful sky & very good framing
