Photographer's Note
Happy Mother's day to all the mothers and even fathers with the soul of the mothers.
Mother carrying the child in "Pattu" (english equivalent=Blanket) outside the temple in Triloknath. It is a place to see how two cultures merge (Hinduism and Budhism). Many families over here worship both the religions and it is not unusual to see a hindu diety in the Budhist temple and vice versa.
Just wanted to post this photo for my mother who is living in Rhodes Island, USA. Here is a message for her. "I love you mum. I might not say that I love you that often. But I want to tell you on this very day that you are very loved. I might say that the way you raised me was not perfect in my eyes, but I did get a fair amount of good love from you and I hold nothing against you as you are a human too and bound to have some errors (in computer lingo). Oh well .. so am I. I love you mom"
Also a special dedication to my friend Nathalie from Sudbury, Canada. This weekend she raised $900 for an orphanage in India.

Sarju this is a very nice picture because of the cultural implications. I find it interesting how in many countries babies are carried in the back of their moms, even to work in the field. Nice capture of this moment. The child look really cute looking straight into the camera. Thanks Sarju.

Bonjour Sarju
C'est un belle image pour la fκte des mκres. Le visage du bιbι est magnifique; d'une grande nettetι et semble emerger de l'image.
Un cadrage plus vers la gauche aurait ιtι pas mal aussi.
Amicalement

Beautiful message in your note, Sarju. I wonder if you are a man with a soul of a mother... ;-) I don't know exactely why, but this one made me thought of Peru. May be the colors, or the way the mom is carrying her son...
This is a great shot, man! Love the way you got the two with him looking straight at you. The interplay bettween side side and front side give a very nice reading of the image. Excellent colorful background, with the guys sat on the bench.
Great post for this special day.
All the best, my friend.

You have a good heart Sarju...
We grow up and have often tons of recriminations against our parents. Grudge. Sometimes, they are justified. Sometimes not. Most of the time, it is the 'normal' process, the way to begin the difficult process of becoming an adult, we have to take the necessary steps to become oneself. Not easy. But, after a while, we understand that they had to do the same. They also had good or bad (most of the time, a mix of both) parents themselves. And we understand. We understand that whatever parents we had, we are now responsible for our own life. We stop accusing them of all our sins. And if we have the chance to become parents, we have to have made peace with the fact that our parents will never be what we wanted them to be, but just human. Great human nevertheless. Because they give us the most beautiful gift: our Life...
Sorry for that 'critique'. The photo? The close, physical relationship, mother and child can share. Love the way the kid is looking at you. ;) Love the smile of the woman...

Hi Sarju,
Excellent double portrait. The child obviously likes your camera. Good salute for mothers on their daily life, taking care of children, shopping etc.

Hello Sarju ..... emotive dedication to your mother and for extension to all the mothers of the world, with a nice image and affectionate image. I like the spontaneity of the look of the child who lives still given through his mother. The framing of the photo on the products of the commerce exhibited in the street meets a point of interest to the composition.
The whole good work, congratulations and thank you.
Regards.

I come a bit late for this shot, but just read the note : funny letter to your mom, you rebellious or unruly child ;-)!
Not easy for your mother either I guess...
But of course, also : lovely shot, touching the heart...
Bravo,
Cath.
(Great also to have raised that amount of money for the orphanage, admirable !)
