Photographer's Note
Along the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi, this calm scene is in sharp contrast to all of the fervor down river at the bathing/burning ghats. This image presented an exceptional personal challenge as it is an HDR image... three different exposures were taken with very slight differences between each of them as far as boat movement resulting in slight blurs, however, they seems fairly imperceptible overall. What do YOU think?

Beautiful composition!! I love the breaking dawn and the boat facing the sun..looking out at the new day of life on the ganges! A lot of activities happening through the day and the boat being an intergral part of the activities on the ganges..I like the concept of the photo and the taking..perfect I feel..TFS

Wow! This is a beautiful capture. I like the light here, starting from gray, changes to red and again gray and red.
The boat in the background is nice especially with the sun moving down.

Its worked out very well Conrad, Beautiful shot with amazing colours and also superb compo..!!The HDR techniques has worked very well and has enhanced the image greatly..!!
absolutely astounding placement of the boat ..the blurr part is just visible on the reflection on the water...you shud have kept the end part of the reflevtion in my opinion..!!

very well and cleverly framed shot in a well chosen vertical format. You composed it greatly with a main subject and some minor, but very nice details. The light is very nice and the pastel colours are amazing. Good use of the HDR sw.

lovely morning composistion makign full use of the beautiful light. My only nit pick would be cuttign the tip of the boat in thr refelction.

Hello Conrad,
The principle is a very good one, merging layers, but in this case, I cannot see too much blur on the boat some on the reflections perhaps. What I like in this one is not the blur but the atmosphere it spreads when you look at it. The pastel colors and the passing boat are great assets.
