flower offerings # I, a photo from Punjab, North

It is same place again.. Golden Temple is in the background.. Sikh ladies are organizing the flower offerings, people behind me are praying..
(i was a naughty man, i was at the front, bothering them with my machine-gun camera! :)
i just included the small part of the sacred tree on the right side..

it was a kind of lucky day for me i guess, because i had a difficult but a great light for this shot..

it was a very bright, bluish, sunny day that day as you can see in my first shot..
then suddenly it started to rain in the afternoon for half an hour.. the sky became pinkish/reddish.. and the rain stopped! Well, it's mansoon times..

The sky and the light were quite amazing for a while after the rain.. so, the colours are natural here..

This is really quite beautiful Evren. Great morning light and really nice, subtle shades of color. I believe that it might be improved slighlty by simply pulling the middle down slightly on a curves layer, but overall this is really nice.

I'm like a fly with Number three (and also green color). Just post somewhere a threesome and you'll see me coming indulging my sweet tooth, like a fly on a sugarcube.

What can I say about their position inside the frame and also the fact the saris are of diffrent colors but matching shades, so good I would believe it has been set up like a fashion packshot.

Extraordinarily beautiful scene, Evren. Each of the three charmers plays a significant role, though I love the one on the left "walking off the set". So elegant, so right. A masterful display of photographic skills. OUCH!

Three ladies each doing a different thing. I really like how the girl on the left seems to have walked thorugh the picture, but adds to the photo. Nice background.

i remember the exact spot where it's taken..
I was.... unsuccessful though. A really nice shot. i like the way the pillar is dividing the image..

This is excellent Evren, your composition is great with the 3 ladies and the golden Temple in the background how you got the colors makes it extraordinairy pulling it to another super clean level above reality, here all elements a so well balanced that not one second reholds you of enjoying the scene, keep on this track in your evolution, quite a gtreat step forwards, nothing here is imposive, it is simply a perfect tableau that stands even without border and I mean that.

This is a beautiful light here Evren and a wonderful composition - nice subleties of colour and texture - a nice and natural shot which seems to convey the sacred and mundane together through the combinations of posture - but then you tell of us of sound and the atmosphere in your image also speaks of a special feeling and reverence infusing everything!

Is that why you felt naughty!?

Whew. Lovely gentle colours and you caught them at a moment when they were just doing what they went there to do -- not staring at you or posing for you. I especially love the dynamism of the woman about to walk out of the frame. Lovely, tranquil shot.

One day I will also go to India, Evren - your photos as well as those of Claude, Caleb, Maciek and all the others are too inspiring to not want to do that. Very nice atmosphere with the red sky in this one, and the ladies make a lovely foreground interest amidst the inspiring and ornate architecture. Beautiful and vivid.

Hi Erven, I was very busy last week, and gone for a long weekend, so I must your last pcis. It's impossible to catch up on TE, but I really love this one. The light is so soft here, and the position and the pose of the woman so beautiful. The atmosphere is serene, Evren, I like it very much. The smile of the woman, placing the flowers with care, is beautiful and soft.

Sorry I keep missing these masterpieces. Nobody will believe me if I say that I have no time to go on visiting pictures of TE friends, and I imagine some are even angry, because I send so few critiques.

This picture is a WINNER for sure, because
it has achieved whet few people manage to do
Showing people in their daily occupation without any posing, and shooting at the decisive moment, like a game. The background with Amritsar temples and the dividing column
are outstanding too. If you decide to make an exhibit of your India pictures in Istanbul I think I can organize it for sure.
