A World Heritage Site, Hampi is a place where you can lose yourself among the ruins, or simply be mesmerised by the vagaries of nature, wondering how millions of years of erosion could have resulted in a landscape so fascinating. {Lonely Planet}
This photo captures the ruins of Krishan Temple, as you can see the Gopura (apex of a temple structure) has chipped off. It is interesting to see the irony of sacredness here; a place once so revered is in ruins and hanging by the thread.
