It was some minutes left to get the sun rays on earth. They, the ladies were waiting for the moment for the rituals, Chhat, which will be start with the appearing of sun. Ultimately it was the time of worshiping Sun, as god. They were re-arranging the fruits, diyas and those incense sticks for the worship.

Hello Subhendu,
Excellent capture of this ancient festival. I was seeing in Wikipedia the other day that this is one of the most ancient festivals in India, other than Holi and Diwali.
Nice picture showing the mashimas, boudis and kakimas engrossed in fine tuning the minute details of the arrangement. I like the way their ornaments are shining in the light of the lamps. Thanks for sharing.

One more festive shot from you.i've seen all ur post on "chatt". is this one earlier posted something like as "reflection mode"?.Anyway that doesnt matter.this one is empowered with great contrast and professionally handelled exposure.the colors of the garlands along the calnle flames are very prominent.this one is really hard to take for me,as i tried it a lot in haridwar ghats.you made it successfull. congratulation. This one is a very good example of low light photography. Darun hoyeche.

The darkness creates a good atmosphere in which the red garlands and the small candles play a very important role. The ladies almost disappear in the darkness but their hands stretched out for the last arrangements just catch enough light. In not so easy conditions you created a very fine composition. Thanks for sharing.

Ah, another one of your favourite festival, and this time in candle/diya light! But the colors are so bright and natural! The ornaments dazzling in low light - is fantastic.
Chhat is Sun - that is light. Photography is all about light. You are indeed blessed by the Light-God.
