An old fortied city, Patan was once the capital of the region, before Sultan Ahmed Shah move it to Ahmedabad, in the 15th century.
Patan has many Hindu and Jain temples and it's famous for its famous Patola silk saris.
This photo was taken near the entrance of a beautiful Jain Temple - the Panchsara Parshvanatha Temple.

Hello Ana - The washed out colours of the sculpted wall mural capture one's attention immediately, and here we see an interesting juxtaposition of ancient and modern transport. I have to say the elephant is a far more regal system but perhaps the bike is more practical! Lovely shot. Best regards Rosemary

Such an interesting shot, first because of the regal subject and its juxtaposition with the common bicycle but also because the elephant appears to be balancing on the handlebars!

Wonderful juxtapositioning here and a tighter crop and I can see what drew you in to the image. The glamourous sculptured wall as the main fig, carries enough interest to make it an effective street photograph as it conveys the mix of cultures very subtly. I like the sense of decay here too - good details and an interesting piece of work in vibrant colours. A superbly composed street scene, well seen and recorded.
