Photographer's Note
Got this colourful frame at the ghat of river Ganges, at the evening of the day before chhath. (actually it was the time when the Sun is just going to set)

Chhath, also called
Dala Chhath, is an ancient Hindu festival dedicated to Surya, the Hindu Sun God, Surya, also known as Surya Shashti. The
Chhath Puja is performed in order to thank Surya for sustaining life on earth and to request the granting of certain
wishes. The Sun,considered the god of energy and of the life-
force, is worshiped during the Chhath fesival to promote well-being,prosperity and progress.
In Hindu mythology, Sun worship is believed to help cure a variety of diseases, including leprosy,
and helps ensure the longevity and prosperity of family
members, friends, and elders. The rituals of the festival are rigorous and are observed over a period of four days. They include holy bathing, fasting and
abstaining from drinking water(Vratta), standing in water for long periods of time, and offering
prashad (prayer offerings) and aragha to the setting and rising sun.
In this frame you can see some devotees in the sacred river
Ganges. After the holy deep they are prayering something
to the god 'Sun'. I like this colourful frame for the arrangement of colours. Hope you'll enjoy it.

A vibrant and very culturally interesting image: thanks for the useful notes. I like the composition, with its curve following the river's edge, and of course the colours are incredible: I reckon you've deliberately under-exposed by about 1/2 stop in order to ensure full saturation. Well done.

Namaste Subhendu,
this composition is a real symphony of colors and an explosion of life, because of the vivid colors of the clothes and of the baskets of fruit, as well as by the vital atmosphere of all the people who prays and does offerings during the religious festival.
It is a very fresh and spontaneous photo, of the daily life in the country.

Very busy picture. You took advantage of your high POV to cover a lot of ground within your frame. Nice to see the activities going on...but I still don't think it was a good idea to have the people at the top part with their heads cut off! You could have used a closer zoomed view IMHO

certainly a frame filled with color. i know its always difficult in these situations to try to compose the photo without getting an arm or leg of half body in the photo, but I think the composing could have be done a little more careful so as not to cut the heads from the bodies in the background and the bodies from the heads in the fg.
