Photographer's Note

Close encounters of the kitchen kind and how many cooks to spoil the broth?

I was drawn to all the strong lights and some vibrant colours going on here under quite adverse conditions. I decided that it adds to the feel and atmosphere as it is, furthermore it's all about the real world thus it needs a sense of truth. Since food is ubiquitous in Rajasthan everywhere you go, there it is.

Taken using available light through a window into the kitchen area of one of the eateries at Jaipur market. For me, the all important quality I am always shooting for is eye contact. So, drawing attention of people
inside is not a bad thing though and the most important thing is to shoot just as they see me. Should I wait any longer they will usually either get angry or will turn away and ignore me.

That is the fun of street photography...
