Another slide from my trip to India in 1985. While in Aurangabad on my way to Ajanta, I visited this Hindu temple. I'm not sure which temple it is but probably is the Grishneshwar Temple:

It is one of the 12 jyotirlinga shrines in India. The present temple was built by Ahilyabhai Holkar in 18th century CE. The structure is a unique example of Bhoomija architecture with a Maratha style influence.
Aurangabad is the fifth largest city in Maharashtra.
The city is a tourism hub, surrounded by many historical monuments, including the Ajanta Caves and Ellora Caves, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as Bibi Ka Maqbara and Panchakki. The administrative headquarters of the Aurangabad Division or Marathwada region, Aurangabad is titled "The City of Gates" and the strong presence of these can be felt as one drives through the city. The city was founded in 1610 by Malik Amber. Aurangabad is the Tourism Capital of Maharashtra.

Ciao Donato,scansione impeccabile con grandi dettagli,anche se purtroppo i colori sono quello che sono,tipici della pellicola. Bella vista sul tempio con il trio dei riposanti sempre presenti in luoghi come questo,quasi facessero parte dell'arredamento..ehehe..buona serata! Luciano

The many architectural decorations at Hindu temples (as here) are amazing.
The resting men dressed in white clothes are a good added value to this image.

In un'inquadratura semplice, la spiritualitΰ rappresentata dal tempio e la propensione alla stasi meditativa rappresentata da questi nullafacenti, cosμ rari nella nostra cultura della rapiditΰ e della competizione. Forse un po' troppo evidente la maschera di contrasto.

Hello Donato, Like gert, you show us the pictures from India from the old archive. Good quality for the scan from slide. Maybe you had better - I used ORWO and the quality after years is terrible. Wonderful temple and nice composition with the guys sitting.
