This photo of the new Infant Jesus Cathedral in Tangasseri, Kollam has been taken from the Tangasseri Lighhouse.

The Catholic Church in India owns the largest chunk of non-agricultural land, and is known as the second largest employer after the Government of India. A debate is on whether church properties in India should be governed by the government.
The Infant Jesus Church, an old Portuguese-built church, remains as a memento of Portuguese rule. The old cathedral was demolished and replaced by a new cathedral at a cost of around 4.5 crore (US$760,000); it was consecrated and blessed on 3 December 2005. The metallic cross on the top is one of the largest crosses in India. The cathedral comes under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Quilon or Kollam, which is the first Catholic diocese in India in the state of Kerala.

Hello Apurba,
This POV makes it seem like the church is situated right in the middle of the jungle. I guess this is not really the case, but the dense vegetation provides superb surroundings and also creates a fine contrast between the dark green trees and the red brick roofs of the church, whose arcitectural style I cannot really define.
