Jain Monolith:
This is the World famous 57 foot monolith of "Lord Gomateshwar", a Jain God. Also called by name "Bahubali". The statue of Gomateswara is on top of a hill, - at a height of 3000 feet above sea level. A flight of 625 steps provides access to this temple. Views of the neighborhood from the top of the hill are spectacular.

This monolith is in Sravanabelugola, which is one of the most popular Jain pilgrimage center in South India and attracts tourists/pilgrims from all over the world. Sravanabelugola is in Hassan district of Karnataka. according to the historical documents, this monolith was built in mid 10th century by 'Chavundaraya'.
