Photographer's Note

Maybe you feel bored with my Cuba pictures so just for a change a jump to my archive. I am inspired by the Stephen photos from South India. I was there in 2004, so my picture is not so old like Gert's. But from my point of view, it is old. That time I made mainly video, it seemed more effective when the memory cards were still expensive. I made also some pictures with my first digital camera (Sony is fourth). But they are of poor quality. And how I was crazy that I took with me seven (!) friends. Now I prefer to travel alone.

This is the picture from Hyderabad. What you see in the background is Charminar.
The Charminar, constructed in 1591 CE, is a monument and mosque. The landmark has become a global icon of Hyderabad, listed among the most recognized structures of India. The English name is a translation and combination of the Urdu words Chār and Minar or meenar, translating to "Four Towers"; the eponymous towers are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches.

Hyderabad has a population of about 6.7 million and a metropolitan population of about 7.75 million, making it the fourth most populous city and sixth most populous urban agglomeration in India. Hyderabad was historically known as a pearl and diamond trading centre, and it continues to be known as the City of Pearls. Many of the city's traditional bazaars, including Laad Bazaar, Begum Bazaar and Sultan Bazaar, have remained open for centuries. However, industrialisation throughout the 20th century attracted major Indian manufacturing, research and financial institutions, including Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, the National Geophysical Research Institute and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology. Special economic zones dedicated to information technology have encouraged companies from across India and around the world to set up operations and the emergence of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in the 1990s led to the area's naming as India's "Genome Valley".
Maybe I will upload also Workshop.
