Photographer's Note
Amazing Lake, has wonderful reflection of mighty peaks. The one in the picture is Mt. Thalayyasagar.
Trek is a long tortuous 18km from the closest town Gangotri.

Welcome to TE, Nitin--nice start! This is beautifully done, a classic composition very well executed. The rocks in the foreground help a lot. But you have to get rid of that red date stamp--it's really a distraction. Regards, Ken.

Welcome, Nitin!
That's a great shot. I like the subject and the composition. I just wish the date weren't there. (You could clone it out using sofftware).
Best,
Mike

Hi Nitin!
Welcome to the TrekEarth.
This is a good shot right from the foreground to the background. Depth of view is excellent.
I suggest you avoid date-time recordings; they interfere with the totality of a good picture.

Great first post, I hope to see more.
The clarity of the water is fantastic, so are the blues.
If you need some tips on getting rid of the date stamp, let me know.
Take care,
Kelley
Well, someone else beat me to it. Allow me to translate. OPen the photo in PhotoShop, select the bandaid tool. Hold alt down while click on the area you would like to "clone out". When you're done, save the file again.
P.S. Good job on the clone work.
Bravo!

hi Nitin
a good one for a first post... congrats!!! you have framed it well though I would have preferred a bit more of sky... the background seems to be a bit over-exposed... you can improve it using contrast or color level... much has been said about the date so hopefully you'll take care in future...
I have always wanted to trek to Kedartal but never managed... about Thalay Sagar, I feel it is one of the most beautiful Himalayan peaks... we saw it from the other side though... from the Bhilangna valley while on our way to Mayali Pass... hope to see more of your work... and welcome to TrekEarth!!!

yes it is a pretty picture but the composition
and the use of mass image must be better if you have respected the elementaries rules of framing the subject is in the center of the taken must be beter. friendship of belgium where we have no montains ....but good professional photography schools always thinks good comosition tks .Henri ICADI
