Photographer's Note
Ill take a short break from Peru and go back to India. This a follow-up to Portrait of a Wonder which I submitted a few months ago.
Basically I wanted to portray the monuments individual beautiful features as opposed to it as a whole the way it is usually done. (Of course I did take tons of conventional photos of it).
For this picture as well as for the other one I stood in front of the pond in front of it and shot the photo with my Tamron 28-300 lens at its maximum zoom which explains a bit the questionable technical quality of it. Still I think that the grain plus the pollution and fog from the early morning give it a certain aura.
I hope you guys like it.

Hi Daniel, the composition is good, but, as you wrote, the quality is too poor.
the light was goos, as the colors.
thanks, ciao

bonjour Daniel

well that's a nice zoom-in composition with fantastic lighting, too bad the quality isn't top. Nice work anyway.

I was impressed with the colors and shapes here , Daniel
The tight crop is forcing us to look at the marvelous details and the geometrical shapes
The shadows are very good too
Well seen and presented

Salut Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Shooting with 300 is not easy (too bad it does not have EXIF :( ). but it looks like you are very steady.
I like the cropping/framing giving the frame a bit of an abstruct feel, with all the shapes.
For some erason, the picture does not look completly horizontal (I checked the rooftop and it is ok, but the "poll" is really off).
I like it.
Friendly,
Udi.

With this tight crop we can see all the intricate detail, so good composition. Considering the focal length and the scanning it hasn't come out too badly. Maybe some kind of neatimage type treatment would help.

I love this work!
I love the framing, the way you compose it... and in the end I like the effect of early fog cause it gives this whole picture a magical touch which is in the end very characteristic fot this building and it's story... I don't think that it's damagin picture quality...
my word is - MAGICAL

Lovely shot Daniel - I love the juxtaposition of these geometric shapes, the lovely architectural details, and the interesting light and shadow. Your tight crop is good - I might even make it a bit tighter from the top. The grain is effective here I think. For me the frame is a bit too heavy, otherwise - love it.

Hi Daniel,
even if i am sick of thousands of Tac Mahal pictures every day, this looks much different than the rest thankfully..As Jerzy says, it has a kind of old feeling in it which i really like,, i also like the tight framing here, well done..

Nice tight framing. Colors seem a bit blached out due to scanning. Lovely original take on this building.

This is a brilliant shot. The colors and the atmostphere are absolutly majestic. Always great to see a new perspective of the taj.

Hi Daniel,
A very well composed shot of this great structure. I like the play of shadow and light here. Your careful framing and cropping are very artistically done, and it was a wise choice not trying to include the entire dome at the top. Very effective and whatever graininess is absorbed by the aura of mystery and beauty. Great capture.

Hi Daniel,
Nice capture and a very clever composition, you always see the Taj covered with people, with this composition you've cut them all out, well done.

Salut Daniel,

Quality is poor? I love it this way, Daniel. It's a great composition and I even like the lightning. I really like your angle and the cropping is perfect. What I don't like is the BLACK frame. Too hard fro my taste.

rbcy,
I think what people love about this photo is that it isn't your standard shot (as you mention in the note). So many times people take pictures of buildings and they just turn out bland. I like the interesting crop and the shadows over the windows and the doorway. The "graininess" (is that a word?) brings out the details of the stone and the art. Nice job!
