Photographer's Note
Dedicated smiles for my sister
Mishreyee Bhattacharya
a rare blessings of Lord through TE
**********************************************
**********************************************
The portrait is of a brother who yearns for the rakhee from her sister.
Rakhee is a bond of love between a brother and a sister.
Celebrated through out India, today.
What is then Rakhee???
Rakhee is just another name of Raksha Bandhan.
Raksha means---------- to save
Bandhan mean---------- a vow
So on this auspicious day sisters tie a coloured string on the wrist of their brothers, and the brother repeats the vow to take care of her sister in thick and thin.
In the photograph
The brother is waiting and thinking--where is my sister? Because without the sister there can be no Rakhee.
Well friends this portrait will be uploaded once more, the day I meet my sister Mishreyee.
Till then----just ~~Half Portrait~~

Hello Rajeev,
You're not in the rules of portrait with a colorful background that could be distactive but in fact it suit well with the young age of the model and his shirt also...
i like your note...i going to tell it to my children...a boy and..a girl, may they'll want to make Rakhee together,
thanks,
vincent

Hi Rajeev
wow, very nice portrait, the colors are great in this. I like that you have shown another modern side of India through this portrait, as usually child portraits from India on TE are only of half naked street children staring into the camera, which has become a cliche. You have shown another side of India. Nice note too.

Hello Rajeev.
the colors are incredible in your portrait. I must say I agree with Rahul. I have never been to India (but I hope to go someday), so I get information from the usual suspects...magazines, literature, pictures on websites. they do tend to fall into the cliches of what your country holds, it is a noble cause presenting the true faces and teaching us less learned ones about a wonderful culture.
The young mans expression is very warm, great shot.
Thanks friend,
Chris
