Photographer's Note
This photograph was taken in a small village in Burdwan district of West Bengal, India. A group of local sadhus had gathered to perform some ritual and after the ritual was over they took to chanting some verses and smoking. I managed to take a couple of shots with much of their reluctance and got several stares my way.

You might have gotten some stares, but they resulted in great shots. The face (with the remarkable nose) is confrontational, but ultimately it is the beautifully out-of-focus figure in teh background that really wraps up the shot for me. I also like the way the colour red returns throughout the image. Nice work, Paromita. Thanks a lot for sharing it.

What a gorgeous colour! These local sadhus are expertly captured with an amazing angle of view and depth of field. I admire your high-level sense of colour.
