Photographer's Note
A star on the sky of humanity was born on that day...the day when the world saw how
'one fifth of human race' over powered the
British invader...but they(British) keep their finger prints on this subcontinent by
breaking this huge nation in to two pieces..
and the crack is not cemented till today...
The head lines of this news paper(published on 15th August, 1947)
describe it as 'political freedom' may be this is correct technically...
but it is something more...
It is a victory over imperialism...
a victory over colonialism...
a victory of humanism..
a victory of non violence...
And
a freedom to speak..a freedom to breath..a freedom to love..a freedom to
hate...a freedom to think....

Nice photo worth archiving. But, I don't think people from other parts of the world will understand the significance unless you precisely mention on the notes that 15th August is our independence day and that we got freedom from a foreign rule which was over us for more than 200 years.
Cheers

Well, the english were not there anymore, passed that date, why did the 2 dominions stay apart, and growing apart even more afterwards? (confused)
But a perfect illustration for this anniversary, a day that made India, the most populous democracy on earth.
