Photo captured at the eve of Chhat Puja... Devotees are worshiping the God Sun at its setting time... They used to worship the Surya (Sun) at its setting time and the next day morning when the Sun rises again.
This is a moment of the evening with the last rays of Sun.

Some information about Chhat Puja :
'Chhat Puja' is an ancient Hindu festival and only Vedic Festival dedicated to the Hindu Sun God, Surya and Chhathi Maiya (ancient Vedic Goddess Usha).
The Chhath Puja is performed in order to thank Surya for sustaining life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.

Namaste Subhendu. Lord Surya must be pleased with all the colourfully dressed devotees, who are like His rainbows,and the brightly coloured offerings. Excellent exposure, POV and sharpness.It's lovely how the sun's light brightens all those reds, greens, blues... Regards. Klaudio.

A gorgeous scene , full of life and colors . The light is wonderful . I like a lot the composition , with the juxtaposition of the row of baskets in the FG and the row of prayers in the BG .

There are many different parts in this picture. The foreground contains colourful fruits in a good line and further away a line of worshipping people in the water. Between a group of eye-catching red-dressed women. A very calm and peaceful mood!

Hello Subhendu,
This is a truly fantastic photo, a real masterpiece. It looks as it was all arranged for you, but of course it wasn't. You just found the perfect place where you had women in colourful sarees encircling nearly the whole frame, and the only gap is filled with just as attractive baskets of fruits and flowers. The setting sun has given the colours wonderful, saturated tones. This is the kind of picture that makes me long for another visit to India before it is too late.

una foto molto bella non solo nella realizzazione dal punto di vista tecnico, considerando che colori e nitidezza si inseriscono molto bene in una bella composizione, ma anche per il notevole valore documentarisco che essa offre agli occhi di noi occidentali.
Hai ritratto nella migliore delle maniere una bellissima scena che racconta un attimo della vita dell'India, qualla magica India che esiste ancora oggi.
