Huangyao is a picturesque village in the north-east corner of Guangxi province. Only couple of busses from Guilin pass here, so it's a bit off-route for most travellers, but that's what makes it fun, of course. There's a big fancy hotel just outside the old town and several small and friendly inns inside.

This picture shows a shaded walker. I assume this young woman is a visitor, not a local. It can get hot on summer afternoons.

Splendid composition of the girl with umbrella, the red flag in the back, and the old Chinese town. I agree, the girl doesn’t seem to be a local. Excellent light and colors. Perfect clarity.

It is not so deep archive. And how nice to see the real China on your picture. Now real are the sky scrapers like everywhere. I mean such streets like here, with low buildings, red lampions. Funny to see this girl with crazy love sign on T-shirt, also attractive is the view of the man behind her. Delightful scene.

Fantastic warm cold color contrasts between the red Chinese flag and the blue umbrella. Sadly this area of China is currently having massive flooding and landslides with many deaths. Tfs!

Hello Benny,
Well, this looks like the real China with traditional buildings, some showing distinct signs of wear. What is unusual is to see a young lady wearing such a modern funky 't' shirt, in this setting.
Whatever, she makes a great focal figure, strongly placed in the frame and made all the more interesting by her use of the large umbrella. She contrasts well with the b/g figures, definitely not of her generation!

This daily life scene was perfectly captured, with the main subject well positioned on the image, giving very good depth to it, and a very interesting background with the old aspect of the walls and the Chinese flag standing out with its strong colors! Excellent light and colors! Wonderful composition!

Wow this is spectacular! I love the lighting--very calm especially fits well in this peaceful village. The flag gives a sense of location. People behind carrying things allows us a sense of daily life of real people as this place looks touristy. Well done. Sothy
