Photographer's Note
This photo was taken at the "God of Fortune" stand at Ocean Park. Many of the additional attractions at the park this weekend had a Chinese New Year theme to them.
The girl in the photo was the assistant for the "God of Fortune", who gave out lucky red pockets to the children and adults who came to have their photos taken with him.
My wife and children queued for 10 minutes to have their photos taken, so I had the opportunity to try my hand at some 'portrait' shots.
The title for the shot comes from the 1997 song written by Iggy Pop and David Bowie for the album 'The Idiot'.
Tech: Originally, I just cropped 600x800 from the photo, but I didn't like scrolling down so I resized it to 480x640. Brightness -3. Contrast +6. Added saturation and a black border.

Andrew, she is just simply beautiful. ALl the red shades are well represented, and her pose is representative of the Chinese culture. With her young look on her face, and smooth skin, the picture deserves to be a bit more softened. Other than that you have certainly delivered a good quality photo once again. THanks

Beautiful portrait for this Honk Kong girl. Coloured and sharp + excellent DOF. The modele is beautiful in this very classic and attractive portrait, she is exactly as we think about China here in our Breton's countryside.

A beautiful portrait of a young Chinese girl, Andrew. You really went close on this one, and it payed off. The colors - with the dominating red - are astonishing and the backdrop together with the 'thingy' she's holding are well balanced. But above all I think it's the mild expression in her face that makes this photo - there's a striking resemblance to Mona Lisa... I like that you resized it (for portrait format I use x700) to avoid scrolling. Very well done!

Nice portrait Andrew, excellent colors and DOF, beautiful elements in your picture, very pleasant. I didn't have the chance so far to make portrait, I've seen many on this site, I hope it will come soon and have nice result like this, thanks for sharing.

I also like very much the chinese culture. I'm a Kung Fu practicer and I study a little about your country's culture. The picture is well framed and the girl is pretty... hehehe I liked it!

A beautiful portrait, but I find that that misses a little naturalness, it remains nevertheless very beautiful of share the model and the colors suggested.
