This old woman...up close and personal.
A few posts back, i had her picture in a wider angle, with her prayer beads. I thought that was it. But when I wen through her other photos, this one particularly touched me in a very serene way. She has this look that speaks volumes. Her eyes, the lines on her face, the quivering of the mouth, the wind-blown gray hair...each of these has a story to tell.
A very beautiful old Tibetan woman...read her stories through her face.

Ah, there she is again, Manny. A beautiful portrait of her lovely wrinkled face, with her sparkling eyes looking right at you. The DOF is right on spot here, and the blue tones in the back also complement her red clothes in a fine way. The side light works nicely, too.

Hi, manny (was TE off too for the day in Thailand?).
yes, you must have been happy to catch her in a more expressive note after your first frustrations that day.
I keep thinking how different people, with different country histories, respond to the onlooker, relating again to your thai galleries (checked Pbase too, BTW).
I actually find that what is coming from your pix is actually all the pain and duress we will never know, nor guess exactly the depth of.

Very interesting object
I assume you used a wide aperture by looking at the blurry background
I'd have given more space on the right part to get a 1/3 composition, or I might have used vertical format for this pose

Manny, I don't know what to say, of course all the technical bla bla, but the face is so beautiful, and like you say, her look is so great, and her face so beautiful and so mild.
You controlled the DoF so well.

Superb portrait with great use of selective focus (dof). Excellent lighting & sharpness, which has brought out the varied textures of the womans wrinkled face.

She is beautiful and I like her expression and eyes, she looks very friendly.
You have great clarity and details her to bring out all the fine lines in her face. Good colours and light. Excellent DOF.

Unbelievable shot. Technically, everything looks perfect. I really think that the perfecting touch that makes this shot outstanding is the bright red clothes and the blue background - this combination of bright colours really makes this shot come alive.
