Photographer's Note
This photo shows part of the cable car system at Ocean Park, overlooking Shouson Hill and the Hong Kong Country Park.
In this area of Hong Kong there are less skyscrapers, crowds and traffic, and more villas, swimming pools and tennis courts.
I know that the title is a 'stretch', but I didn't know how to join these two different places.
'A Streetcar Name Desire' was a 1951 film starring Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh - based on Tennessee Williams' classic Broadway play.
1st photo for Fall '04 Hunt - A picture taken from up to down
Tech: Cropped to make it less than 200KB, resized, sharpened. Contrast +6. Brightness +3.

I like the contrast of the metallic tower against the tree and villa covered background. The haze gives a good atmospheric perspective but it's not strong so it still gives a clear view. What I like here, too, in this view is the sense of height felt. It seems this rises hundreds of feet to where you are in this fragile looking way. It seems to teeter above the villas. I was looking at it while scrolling around and perhaps it could be cropped a bit at the bottom. It's quite a view and you certainly make me feel a bit dizzy floating above the town.

My daughter sometimes ask-me, how "bolts and nuts" could be nice? Yes, it really can be !This unusual composition shows it! Well done Orme!

Good DOF, you really get the feeling of the height in this photo, I would have tried to crop the bottom left to show less of the pathwhay.

This picture is very sharp, dark green the colours on metal, the haze gives a good atmospheric perspective gives a clear view, the road beneath and the part of river is clearly perceptible. Good job Andrew!

Good PoV, and good clear well framed shot, especially considering the constraints you'd have.

Creative shooting, Andrew - the elements of the cable car make a good off-centered T-shape in your frame, around (or rather, below) which we can spot a lot of interesting details in the residential area below. A great sensation of height is conveyed by this POV. Looks like if you go down to shoot, you mind find a motive to use another title of a 1950s Brando movie - "On the waterfront" ...
Think I have a third theme for this one to be added to - "Vertigo".

Very interesting composition with strong main object and lovely urban background, shown from a high angle of shooting, Andrew! Fine true colours and love the way you included some water detail in it too. :-) Very good job!

I like the tittle Andrew, original and funny. I also enjoy this shot. This shows a different Hong Kong that you usually show us. A photo of just the view would have been nice, but to have included the cable car machinery is original and more interesting to me. Nicely done.

Excellent view Andrew and interesting composition for the hunt, maybe a small rotation to the right woul have work ok by avoiding this thing a the bottom left and gives a better view on the the bay, well seen.

The angle of shooting is amazing, and even a bit scary. I just wonder where have you been standing, Andrew?
I like the indutrial look of the cables and wheels in contrast with the calm nighborhood below. Norbert has alreadyadded this to his Vertigo theme (another film's name...) Very nice shot.

An excellent perspective you got that cable (missing) cable car in - the landscape way down gives us a true feeling of height and are interesting to watch - wonder if the tennis court would be the same as on this shot. Thanks Andrew for the ride.

It's a beautiful 'technical' shot, Andrew, showing how complicated these machines are. You've made a nice capture of it passing by. Your POV has placed it nicely against the backdrop, showing not so much what is behind, as what is below. Revealing a more wealthy part of Hong Kong's residential areas - which the great DOF allows. Colors are within the a close range with the orange wheels sticking out. Very well done!

Une hauteur trθs impressionnante ici avec une bonne profondeur de champ qui accentue davantage cette sensation de grandeur.
Bien vu et merci de prιsenter de tel ouvrages Andrew
