Photographer's Note

We were traveling between Lijiang and Zhongdian on a bus when I saw this amazing scene from my window. The bus wasn't going to stop on this road so it was just a matter of point and shot before the picture was lost behind another hill or mountain.

This, according to my guide book is where the Tibetan World begins. It was beautiful mid-winters day and we are at an altitude of around about 3000m, that's why everything looks so brown. The village below looked very interesting and I wish that I would have had enough time to explore it, because I think there is where the really interesting shots could have be found.

This photograph is uncropped and I have done very little else to it. I was most impressed by the colours and the depth of the scene. It would make nice picture postcard wouldn't you think? But probably not much else.
