The Hong Kong tea-cafe ( literal translation from Cantonese ) is a unique establishment. Offering an eclectic mix of Asian/Western/Fusion dishes at neighbourhood prices.

From BlackPepper Steak to SweetsourRibs with spaghetti, French-toast to Luncheonmeat Maggi Mee; there is hardly a street and alleyway that does not have one of this.

The tea-cafe and its traditional cantonese counterpart - the Porridge and Noodle Shop probably feeds a higher percentage of the 7 million odd hongkong population than McDonalds and all the fast food joints combined.

On the other hand, the small street cafe styled tables and hobbit-sized booth seats probably is what keeps most of the populace lean and slender.
If you need a shoe-horn to get you into any seat in the whole territory, you probably won't wanna get too chubby?
