Photographer's Note
This photo was taken yesterday at the Ocean Theatre in Hong Kong's Ocean Park.
I don't normally like these type of shows - were animals are made/taught to do unnatural tricks - but it does leave you with a great sense of respect for these magnificent, intelligent creatures. And the kids just absolutely love the dolphins!
I was just amazed by the speed of the dolphins in the water. And with only 20 metres of space they could jump so high.
Even though it was raining yesterday, and half the audience was not under any cover, the place was totally packed and most of the crowd had waited over an hour - for a 25 minute show!
I took over 20 photos and only in 4 of them do I have any dolphins. They were just so fast. I was luck to get this shot, because I was at the back of the stand and using the full zoom function.
Tech: No resize. Cropped directly from the original, but had to crop tightly to remove the edge of the pool and other obstacles. Sharpened. Brightness +3. Contrast +6. Increased blue +10 to match other photos.

Great compositon, Andrew. Fresh blue color. Really action shot :) Looks that man through them up, actually he does as a leader. Positions of those dolphins are great. Thanks.

Very good action shot. I am like you Andrew, I dont appreciate these shows for moral reasons, but I saw a couple of shows with doplhins, and I always impressed by there abilities.
The moment is well cought and very well framed, too bad about the focus.

(The sharpness gave it a bit grainy on the skin, but I understand its a part of a photo)

A nice dynamic shot from the dolphin show, Andrew. Great timing on this one to have the beautiful creatures way up in the air, with the drizzling water indicating their speed and agility. The blue from the water basin and the colorful gear of the animal trainer makes for a very vivid color setting. Well captured.

Classic shot Andrew bur the result is good, nice framing and good color of the water. The dolphin jumping in the top corner is excellent as they reach their limits, well done.

A great action shot, Andrew, caught in the very right moment. I understand that this wasn't easy to get, as these animals are extremely fast and come out of the water very much unexpected. Colors are great - on the water and the trainer. The 'frozen' jumps and water are great too. But I find the attitudes to be most notable - the two dolphin's so different, but also the trainer's. The tight crop works well, making your composition interesting. Very well done!
