Photographer's Note
This photo was taken in the 'Amazing Birds Theatre' at Ocean Park.
At the end of the show, members of the audience were encouraged to make a contribution to the conservation of these beautiful birds.
And to start the ball rolling, one member of the audience from each side was asked to stand up and hold out some money for the birds to collect.
My wife tried to volunteer my 4-year old son, but he was 'a little worried'. So my wife did it.
The bird was so quick, I just saw a blur. I was very lucky to get this shot, because two guys beside us just ended up with a photo of my wife's arm - with no bird and no money!
Tech: Cropped some off left and bottom. Resized and sharpened. Increased saturation.

..and amazing PoV, very brave of your wife, and very worth while for you, I don't suppose you could have got to this position otherwise. Very good control of DoF, getting the bird and handler in focus, but leaving teh crowd out. Neat shot.

Nice action shot. Your wife is brave. I'd be a 'little worried' too :-)
You captured the colours very well. I am glad you got the picture.

Superb photo Andrew. Your timing was just perfect (and lucky...). This bird is either well trained or very greedy. I like all the details in the wings of the bird. Really great photo.

Well, you got quite an action shot here, Andrew, it really appears as if the parrot were about to jump out of the monitor any moment. At the same time colorful, sharp and with a good DOF. Very nice outcome, well done utilizing your luck.

Very very fine and funny shot - I like the motion blur - in fact it adds extra to the image - also the blurred view of the spectators makes the image. I can even spot a smile on your wifes face :-) Thanks Andrew for sharing.

Perfect timing, Andrew, and what an amazing shooting angle and POV. I like the colors and the pattrn of the wimg's feathers and the visible tension expressions of the ausience. Very very good shot, I like this one very much.

Superb in mouvement and colors of course.
This is a very attractive composition, wth an interesting note.
The bird is very expressive and looking at he dιtail on the wings I would say (in french) it is an "enchantement"
Feeling very enthousiast by this posting..
Compliments

This is such a wonderfully fun angle, and the motion blur seems very appropriate and adds excitement to the image. Nice work, Andrew!

Great, just great, Andrew! Amazing POV and DOF (as former ATC officer, I just love those 3-letter shortenings) and above all timing. And of course a very brave wife, keeping herself and her arm still at such a crucial moment. At first I thought it was one of the keepers and couldn't understand that you'd come that close. Wonderful colors - both in the bird and in the crowd - and just a pinch of motion blur in the parrot's head/beak adding to the action. Ocean Park seems to be a great place. Very well done!

Wow, good job! I love the way the bird pops out at us. It's very loud and active like this. A nice bit of motion blur in the wings captures the motion and transmits it nicely. I can hear the sounds of the bird and the image makes me want to jump back a step, too. Very cool.

In fact this a photo with a perfect timing! And with an 1/80 sec it's amazingly sharp! The colors are great as well the bird body position.
In Lisbon zoo there are also emonstrations with birds but here they use Birds-of-prey like hawks, eagles and an amazing and huge vulture!

Great picture. Catching the moment is in this case essential - and you need a bit of luck as you say as well.
