Photographer's Note
In the Lowland Gardens of Ocean Park is the 'Hong Kong Jockey Club Giant Panda Habitat', which was opened on May 18, 1999.
Here visitors can meet “An An” and “Jia Jia”, a lovely pair of giant pandas bestowed to Hong Kong by the Central Government of China.
'An An' is a 14-year-old male panda (shown in the photo), known as the 'Giant Panda Ambassador', and has visited different places as a gesture of goodwill.
'Jia Jia' is a 22-year-old female panda and a mother of 4 cubs.
They live in a 2,000 square meter habitat, that closely resembles the natural living conditions of giant pandas in the wild.
There is viewing veranda for visitors to see the living activities of two national treasures.
The project provides an opportunity for the public to learn more about this endangered species, the survival problems they are facing and, more importantly, how people can help in preventing the giant pandas from facing extinction.

She is a beautiful Panda, placid and with a very great intelligence, used the fore legs like hands, the colours are really Andrew, the composition is very good, very nice note too.

"sympathique" your Panda. Attitude you caught here is funny.
Like it, precision and colors, the panda is at the right place in this very interesting composition
Well done

A fine choice for this category of the scav hunt, Andrew. Very nice to see the panda snacking away in the colorful park surroundings; under the seemingly limited options you came up with a very pleasant framing. Good notes, too - well done.

Quel animal magnifique ! Son pelage, sa "bouille", le rendent particuliθrement sympathique. Et quel dommage que cette espθce soit menacιe !

Oh yes the Hunt - I must better get those last 5 shots soon. You selected this motif very cleverly - I would say that the Panda also the a great symbol for your land. Thanks Andrew, for the photo and the note as well - fine job.

A nice cuddly fellow, Andrew. He looks so peaceful and gentle it's fully understandable that he 'works' as an ambassador. I think he has visited a female friend at the Berlin Zoo - that's where I've seen a panda - but I don't think that was as an ambassador, although I'm not sure... ;o) You've caught him in a very beautiful surrounding and with a friendly attitude, slightly turned and with a pleasing motion blur in his left raw, showing 'action'. Very well done!

Nice capture of the panda in this environment that is safe and protected. It seems really calm there going about eating. I really like its posture just plopped down sitting there. And the inclusion of a little of the habitat helps give an atmosphere. It is blurry, though and that bothers me a little bit. From the shutter speed I'm guessing it was camera shake. I really like the feel of the shot, though. Calm and safe in its enclosure. a little sad that that's where it is safe but still calming.

That is one cute panda. What a great shot. Nice frame as well.
Was the choice of black and white for a frame on purpose to frame a panda or just a coincidence?
Very cool. :-)

Good one Andrew. It seems like you got the panda to pose for you. The surronding vegetation helps to make good composition and contrast the color of An-An.

Nice image of this beautiful animal. The colors and composition are very nice, but it's a pity that the Panda is blured. A higher shutter speed than 1/13 would be advisable as the animals don't stans still for the photographers! ;-)

I would like very much to see one of this panda bears alive. I only know them from TV or magazines... I yhink it's a very beautiful animal too. Your picture is good, but this one is a little bit out of focus. Regards!

She's so cute. It has a perfect background of the panda. The color blends well with her color. Good job!
