Photographer's Note
More pics I have discovered on my hard drive collecting digital dust, taken fourteen years ago.
This is my version of one of the most photographed temple areas in Angkor Wat, Cambodia:
Dedicated to Vishnu, Ta Prohm was built by King Suryavarman as his state temple and capital city of the Khmer Kingdom. Almost 1000 years hidden from time and people, it's easily recognised by its 500+ years
old tree roots growing on top of the stone structures. The intricate carvings in this landmark have their own old world charm, something that will imprint onto your soul for a lifetime. What more can I say, those of you
lucky enough to have been there know that descriptive words simply can't begin to describe it.
It's where some of the film Tomb Raider was shot - unfortunately, Lara Croft had left!!
Truly a divine travel experience.....

Hello Abmdsudi,
I think I went there in January 2004. I have loaded a similar shot on my TE pages. The fig or banyan roots steal the show. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello Abmdsudi, it is surprising just what has been hidden in archives!
The lighting is simply perfect as it highlights the ancient roots of the tree as they have climbed up and over the temple.
Excellent sharp shot.
Kind regards, Jean.

Greeting.
Today we are neighbors with photos at the TPP.
Interesting yard and old architecture, well shown with beautiful colors, contrast and good text.
Nature does its job.
I wish you all the best.
Paja.

Hi Abmdsudi
One of the most memorable of the temples around Siem Reab but I remember having difficulty getting a good photo of the this tree. This is a good photo of the tree. By the way there are separate folder on TE for each of the temples.
cheers
Ian

Hello Abmdsudi, It was also my favourite place in the Angkor Wat complex. I was there in 2003. Amazing view of these roots. We can imagine a bit how all looked like when it was discovered. Spectacular composition.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello abmdsudi,
Nice play with the lights. I like how the giant root is illuminated, makes it popping out of the other-wise dark area.
Best Wishes,
Gy.
