Photographer's Note
This is Neam. He keeps Ta Phrom nice and tidy with his broom. I found him to be a very beautiful man. Phil Coggan wrote this about a previous picture I had posted of him (but have now deleted as it was very bad quality scan):
"Yep, he's famous! I've got a shot of him myself, someplace. I read an article about his lafe - very sad story, the Khmer Rouge took away his two sons, aged 12 and 15, to be boy soldiers, they never came back..."
He is now in his mid eighties and walks everyday from his village to work in the ruined temple, sweeping laves and rubbish from the dust. Some time ago, I searched on google for any more info, and found an article from a very christian american lady in cambodia on a mission who beleived that, when she met him on her trip, she had met someone who had communicated with (her) God. I was going to post a link, but I can't find the page anymore.
In PS I cropped a little off the top and RH side to decentre him and then set the contrast in curves using shadow/highlight droppers, then brightened the midtones, resized, sharpened (USM) and saved. I actually wanted a softer, warmer feel to this picture, but couldn't come up with the goods, so I've posted this intstead. If anyone fancies having a go in the workshops to this end I would be grateful :)

This guy is famous Morgan, I think almost everyone who passes through Angkor has a photo or two of him. Everything looks good, although it does appear to be a little oversharpened to me. Good note as well.

Yes, maybe a little oversharpened, but overall a very nice portrait. Nice DOF, good details, and I like how he's not looking into the cam, yet it is clear he is aware that it's there. Cheers!
