This young Khmer entrepreneur was one of the first to approach us in the Angker Wat park. He was selling postcards and offering his services as a tour guide. He was very self assured and spoke good English and Thai, so we agreed to hire his services. He was a good guide and spent a lot of time showing us around and giving background and history of the temples.

Later we were approached by dozens of children of similar age (of both genders) with the same proposition. It got to be a bit overwhelming after a while, but these kids are just trying to help support their families and in current day Cambodia that can be very challenging. Things are getting better in Cambodia, but it is a long slow process.
